About

New York Encounter is a four-day cultural festival organized by Communion and Liberation and Crossroads Cultural Center.

The idea of a “cultural festival” starts from the perception that there is a need for a fresh start in education and a new vibe for cultural initiatives. It also starts from the desire to communicate in New York the remarkable vastness, openness, richness, and profundity of the cultural life and passion for what is human that springs from the education to the Catholic faith taking place in Communion and Liberation.

New York Encounter features conferences on topics that are widely discussed in the public arena, as well as artistic performances and exhibits. It will take place in New York on January 14 - 17, 2010. All events are open to the public and free of charge.

Communion and Liberation is an ecclesial movement whose purpose is the education to Christian maturity of its adherents and collaboration in the mission of the Roman Catholic Church in all spheres of contemporary life.

Crossroads Cultural Center is a cultural center founded by members of Communion and Liberation. Its goal is to offer, through its activities, opportunities for education. St. Paul’s suggestion, “Test everything, retain what is good”, sums up Crossroads’ ideals.
