John McCarthy

Born and raised in Toronto, John C. McCarthy earned a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy at St. Michael’s College, the University of Toronto. His Ph.D. is from The Catholic University of America, where he has served, since 2011, as dean of its School of Philosophy. To mark the thirtieth anniversary of their marriage, he and his wife Margaret made a pilgrimage last summer to the farmstead of Blessed Franz Jägerstäter and his wife Franziska. Together they raised a daughter and two sons, and were blessed to witness, last June, the baptism of their first grandchild.
