Matthew Kaminski is a member of The Wall Street Journal's editorial board in New York, a post he took up in July 2008. For the previous three years, Mr. Kaminski was the editorial page editor of The Wall Street Journal Europe, based in Paris. He joined the Journal in 1997 as a reporter in Brussels and specialized in security issues, Central Europe and the Balkans.

Before joining the Journal, Mr. Kaminski reported for the Financial Times and the Economist on the former Soviet Union in 1993-97. He received a bachelor's degree in history from Yale College and a master's degree in international politics from Universit Paris XI.
