Matthew Cossack

“A master of his touching, yet bold baritone.” (Berkshire Fine Arts), Matthew Cossack is a native of Brooklyn, New York. He holds degrees and awards from SUNY Purchase, Mannes College, and the Yale School of Music. In 2019, he was a finalist in the Opera Index Competition, a Regional Winner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and the winner of the Opera Foundation Scholarship Competition.

He made his European debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in 2019 as a member of the Stipendiat Ensemble. He has been most recently seen there in 2021 as Starveling in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and will be singing in a new opera project titled Once To Be Realised as the baritone soloist which will tour through Berlin, Munich, and Athens in 2022.
