Paul L. Heck
Paul L. Heck is a professor of Islamic Studies at Georgetown University with extensive teaching experience in the Arab World in both North Africa and the Middle East. His research, which focuses on the arena of ethics in Islam and in Christian-Muslim relations, encompasses a broad array of questions from the spirituality of public emotionality to debates over the truths of martyrdom. His most recent work is Political Theology and Islam: From the Rise of Empire to the Modern State (Notre Dame Press, 2023), and his current project is entitled The Spiritual Realities of Christian-Muslim Relations.
