Ron Hansen is the author of ten novels (including Mariette in Ecstasy and Atticus), two collections of stories, and two books of essays. He is Gerard Manley Hopkins, S.J. Professor Emeritus in the Arts and Humanities at Santa Clara University in Northern California. He is married to the novelist Bo Caldwell.
