A New Humanity During the Pandemic: Witnesses from Friends All Around USA

During this pandemic, when moving through our daily lives can be more challenging, we wanted to hear from people who are discovering a new creativity – a new humanity. We met doctors, teachers, musicians, photographers, managers, entrepreneurs, parents, and spouses, and we asked them all the same question: What have you learned from living life in this pandemic? We found extraordinary lessons from ordinary people. We invite you to meet four of these new friends!

Ergon Professional Hub: Your Career, Our Community

Ergon was launched on the brink of the pandemic in February 2020, when some friends at the New York Encounter recognized the need to help each other in work. Ergon helps individuals with every aspect of their career. Whether they are entering the workplace, breaking into a new industry, or finding a new job, members of Ergon share resources to empower others to evolve, learn, and grow together professionally. Mentors and mentees team together to tackle a tough job market, seminars are offered to bring tools to the job search and upskilling, and opportunities for networking forge the personal connection for success at work. Whether you are looking for a job or are already successful in your career, consider bringing your job quest or volunteer skills to a community of professionals.

Education Put to the Test: What Is Really at Stake?
Education is Communicating One's Self: Growing and Helping Others Grow During the Pandemic

During the pandemic, we have experienced frustration, loneliness, and apathy. How are we growing? How are we helping others grow? And what are we learning? These questions will be addressed in a panel discussion with Richard McPherson, founder of the Avalon School in Gaithersburg, MD and headmaster of the Brookewood School in Kingston, MD, Tom Tobin, teacher at the Avalon School, and Dr. Kay Yohe, head of the Trinity School at Meadow View, VA.
